Rationalist, thank you for the link. In that vein, I have been following closely the attempts of freedom loving California regions, eastern Oregonian and Washington counties to decentralize their states by seceding from their urban dictators. This is a wonderful movement and could save our country.

Living in the one county in western WA that was more conservative, now owned by a socialist US Rep. Maria Perez, I would be on board with that movement. 80,000 Repubs moved out of WA...wonder why??? The climate is not good here, too much like sick Portland.
That is so, so sad. It is a beautiful state. When I visited Seattle (only time) back in 1990, it was a lovely city. Portland was the same. I remember being told that there were billboards along the highway that said: "Don't Californicate Oregon." Well, guess it happened.
We are in central Virginia in Albemarle County, which is ruled over by leftists. In this state the leftists are along the periphery -- in the far northern counties adjacent to Washington DC, the eastern coastal areas, and Richmond somewhat. But the leftists outvote us. If we were young, we'd leave..
The biggest divide in this country seems to be between the urban areas versus the rural or outlying areas. All of this country's big cities are run by Democrats.
