Bevin . . . Here in the UK . . . the history of the past 200 years is being altered . . . events whitewashed out, statues cancelled, building renamed, streets renamed, with people of great influence being written out. The past was not perfect, great evil was done . . but attempts to make the past more politically correct by removing all references to people, or their antecedents who had behaved in a way unacceptable to the present day. The way we are going I can imagine that books like Mein Kampf being 'cancelled'; an act which would impoverish our understanding of how the ideas it contains can lead to evil regimes.
