The 1st Amendment to our Constitution allows for freedom of speech, peaceful protest, and our 6th Amendment allows for freedom to assemble. A few years ago, when on January 6th - due to the arrests of over 1,200 peaceful protesters - America saw how fragile a Republic can be; when the 3 branches of government does not fully enforce or enact Constitutionalal safeguards. Part of those safeguards is due process, which was denied many innocent Americans. From the online interviews I saw, and the testimonies of the imprisoned I've read [as in John Strand, above], most were denied due process, immediate legal representation, as well as inhumane terrible treatment. I've heard and read, many were veterans, praying grandmother's, law abiding citizens who came to D.C. to show support for their candidate, and speak on issues. From all the events of the last 4 years, under the American Flag, the most needful urgent action for this nation to not only survive, but thrive, must be oversight, checks and balances, whistle-blower protection, and immediate reform.
On any schoolyard - the bully in the playground gets away with his schemes, because he can. No one stops him. But when the parent, or no-nonsense teacher comes and picks up the bully by the nape of his neck, and squares him eyeball to eyeball, the bully shakes in his boots- someone stronger - and more decent- who now has the control, has said... no more. We need the decent, stronger lawyers and judges, those whose fair-rule-of-law standards cant be bribed away. Our federal, state and local government agencies and heads, the beauracratic bullies who have played their game too long, need the incentive to play fair, or resign, or get fired. Why would they willingly give up their perks, their power? It's worked too well for them through 7 administrations. So, times up when President Trump and the new administration- the new cop comes on the playground.
I believe Pres. Trump will enforce the Constitution- already enshrined into our π scrolls. He doesn't back down to the bullies, and he fights for the underdog. We've seen the rallys, we've heard his stories. He is part P.T. Barnum in his showmanship, part Gen.Custer and Gen. Patton in his bravado. But a coward, he's not. Say what you will about him, but he doesn't tolerate fools or liars easily. Isn't that what this Republic has needed for the last 70 years? A leader. With guts. With courage. Who really loves us, and will fight, fight, fight for us.
