Last week I had an annual review of my health assessment and when asked if I had gotten my influenza shot I said no. Did I want to get it then? I said no way. Could I give them a one or two word answer as to why I refused? Yes, efficacy. Now do you think these people paid any attention to that answer? Doubt it. Know for decades that efficacy rates were really never over 20%, if that and was only vaccinated once ten years ago when my primary care doc talked me into it a pneumonia shot. I got pneumonia. Never again. At 88, I try to keep this strong immune system of mine strong. The wife, also former school nurse exposed to everything under the sun has refuse to shots and never got anything other than a head cold, as we called them.
