I only agree with this to a certain extent. There are differences between the two parties. I have my issues with the Republican Party, but in my view the Democrat Party is much worse. The Dems are for the normalization of transgenderism, they think a man can become a woman, for example. They are for open borders. They don’t require illegal aliens to take Covid shots, but they do require that their government employees take the shots, they are for defunding the police. I could go on and on. It’s not an illusion to say that there are differences between the two parties. Of course, the Dems weren’t always that way. But they have now been taken over by the guy radical left. If there are no differences between the two parties then why has Dr Malone stated that he will never again vote Democrat. It’s not an illusion. The Republican Party is pretty bad, but the Dems are much worse. Of course, anyone can donate to whoever they want. I can criticize anyone I want. And anyone can criticize me if they want. And of course, you can disagree with me if you want.

Malone said he would not vote Democrat because they are in power now, so they get the blame. So perhaps he will vote Republican. The same Republicans that couldn't stand Trump. Trump paid for the vaccines! He loved the vaccines! He still brags about it. Make a list of what you think are the 5 biggest problems this country faces. Then identify what the Republicans have done to solve those 5 problems. You can go back 50 years if you like. The problems are still here. You can blame the Democrats if you want. Just like Democrats blame the Republicans when Democrats don't get their agendas done. They simply take turns blaming each other for why nothing ever gets solved. Remember the quote about not letting a serious crisis go to waste? How about never letting a problem go to waste? Both Democrats and Republicans can milk a problem for decades and nobody cares because it's the other party's fault and we can blame them!

Ok, so we disagree. Anyway, welcome back.

We likely agree on more than we disagree but it's more fun to disagree, or at least to argue as the devil's advocate. If we didn't, Twitter and most social media would disappear. Take care.

Oh, and I’m afraid you’re right. There is no hope for this country. Half of it is very sick.

Have you ever read any first-person accounts by transgender people of what they have gone through? I recommend Lynn Conway; she has written very openly and vulnerably about her life. Her story really opened my eyes and explained a lot of things. Here's a starting point: http://ai.eecs.umich.edu/people/conway/RetrospectiveT.html

Transgenderism is a mental illness. It’s very sad.

How do you know?

You know what I’m talking about . It’s called gender dysphoria. It’s impossible to change gender. A guy can have himself mutilated, but he’s still a guy. Mutilation doesn’t change chromosomes. A woman has 2 X chromosomes. A guy has an X and a Y chromosome. Mutilation doesn’t change that. I’m not denigrating transgenders. I feel bad for them. Gender is not fluid. It’s actually really sad.

I believe in science, and that’s the science.

I see. So your arrogant, sweeping dismissal is actually based on no research whatsoever. Got it.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK532313/. There’s your research. It’s from the National Institute of Health. It calls Gender Dysphoria a mental disorder.

Gender dysphoria is a mental disorder as you say and backed up with the NIH. DSM-5 criteria used by the American Psychiatric Association is the standard used for diagnosis and treatments. Bipolar, Depressive and Schizophrenia are some of the known mental disorders too. I can not imagine society allowing teachers and government to influence children or society at large into becoming(or making them believe they are)bipolar, depressive or schizophrenia. Mental disorders, of any kind, are life altering requiring support and most times lifetime treatments. Mental disorders, in my opinion, are not to be exploited for personal or political gain. Sadly, the full throttle approach to “normalize” gender dysphoria and insist on increasing the numbers by grooming children will do more harm for those with this diagnosis and produce many casualties of children caught in the crossfire.

I think you’re exactly right on this. And of course we are labeled as “haters” by the radical left for speaking the truth. The radical left is a destructive force.

It says that people suffering from gender dysphoria deserve treatment, which in many cases will include assistance in transitioning their bodies: hormones and surgery. It does not say that they're doomed to misery after they do so, nor does it place this condition in the same category as, say, schizohprenia. It also says that in at least some cases, a genetic cause can be found such as androgen insensitivity syndrome.

So I don't think this document supports your position that transgender people shouldn't be considered to be of their chosen gender.

I want people to feel free to be who they are. It's no skin off my back if someone who was born with a male body wants to change it, as much as medical technology makes possible, into a female one, or the other way around; and wants to be treated, socially and legally, as their chosen gender. I do understand that that raises some valid public policy questions, such as which bathrooms they use and what sports teams they play on, and I'm not dogmatic about the answers. The point I do want to make is that the rest of us should try to understand what it's like to grow up transgender, so that we can base our discussions in understanding and empathy. There are some very difficult questions here, and it doesn't help us find answers when people stigmatize and caricature their opponents in the debate. That goes for both sides, of course — there's a lot of it happening on both sides.

So I still urge you to read Lynn Conway's story. "Research" maybe isn't exactly the word I should have used, but I can't think of a better one offhand. I'm talking about trying to understand what drives people to want to change genders and what it's like to grow up with that going on. I think we all owe them that before we debate policy choices that affect their lives.

fine, but LEAVE the kids alone. They are moldable at young ages and this is WHY they keep going after them. Its disgusting. Our species need male and females to procreate and men cannot have babies. What about this do people not understand? If one is an adult and wants to play dress up or cut off parts, have at it but LEAVE the kids alone

Show me research that demonstrates that gender reassignment surgery alters a person’s chromosomal makeup. If you do that then you are arrogant according to your logic.
