However, we must agree that "bringing back the moral code" is not a prescription for a theocracy. The author speaks of "the sovereignty of the individual" which also misses the point that our current crisis is not political or economic, but spiritual. As you suggest, the Constitution is a master work of incorporating Judeo-Christian values into a foundational document without even mentioning God. The author rightly balances the "sovereignty" view with the acknowledgment of human weakness and frailty, but subjects such as “repentance” and “revival” are glaringly absent. One of our biggest challenges in righting the ship will be in the battle for language, and a critical definition therein will be to define "freedom". Good luck with that, in distinguishing it from "licentiousness" without Scriptural guidance.

Spirituality is a close relationship between a man or woman and their Maker. Government needs to stay the sam-hill out of that relationship. I'm so glad you referred to the master work of our Constitution, because that is where we need to be!
