I am reading the very enlightening - and nauseating - book, “Operation Gladio: the Unholy Alliance between The Vatican, The CIA, and The Mafia”, Williams, Paul L. It would appear that the CIA was funded through the sale of heroin and cocaine, received and sold from and by members of the mafia at the time, and banked and laundered through the Vatican’s personal bank. It is a highly cited book with names of the folks involved.
If 98% of the above is, in fact true, it explains a multitude of illegal and morally inhumane actions by people we assumed to have integrity, decency and honor as world/local leaders. In the end, one and only one supreme God has what we can totally depend on.
I didn't remember JFK 'firing' CIA Director - Alan Dulles- (just before he was assassinated), but Alan Dulles was the younger brother of John Foster Dulles - BOTH of which were COUNCIL on FOREIGN RELATIONS members - with John Foster being one of the founders of the "CFR".
John Foster Dulles at one time stated that "the United Nation Charter superseded the United States Constitution." Sez it all.

The seventies, if you can believe it, were 50 years ago and with the CIA they certainly have honed their skills over those years. Think about the use of oxycodone. The government allowed this synthetic heroine to be spread coast to coast throughout the public creating addicts who inevitably would have their prescription end. My brother got wrapped up in this after falling off a wall at the Gardner prison, as a prison guard. They put him on oxycodone. After a long horrible bought with heroine and methadone addiction he died at 48.

There is a difference in the addictive qualities of THC, acid, mescaline and opioids. The first three are not addictive physically, more mentally and emotionally. I agree with you DD. Pot certainly could be used as a sedative for a society. And I think like any drug if you allow it to become normal in your life it will. The governments I’m sure use these serious addictive drugs like heroine to harm people and societies in very negative ways. It’s unthinkable to me that a president, this last administration, wouldn’t do all he could to stop fentanyl from destroying the young.
There are other uses for cannabis that can be therapeutic. Pres. Trump indicated in an interview about a "grouping" (I can't remember the exact wording) that are running the show. I used LSD every weekend for over 2 years, 1500 micrograms (10 tabs) as a spiritual practice. I wouldn't recommend that dosage as an unsupervised experience. It takes a strong psyche and a bit of grace to have the outcome be enlightening...
The CIA is still in the heroin trade. I’ve heard of many soldiers who came back from Afghanistan who did nothing but be security forces for large poppy fields when they were stationed there. I’d say the it lends credence to it being a CIA opp. The Taliban destroyed many of these poppy farms when they took over power of Afghanistan as drugs of any kind are against hardline islamists. I’m not sure why soldiers were guarding these fields but I also know not many were questioning it either.

The CIA's distribution of heroin actually had its beginnings right after WW II. In the late 1940s the newly formed CIA (Truman's replacement for WW II's OSS) contracted with Gen. Claire Chenault (founder/leader of the American Volunteer Group - the "Flying Tigers" - during WW II) to form Civilian Air Transport (CAT) to fly opium into China's opium epicenter - the Yunnan Province - where it was processed and sold by the remnants of Chiang Kai-Shek's army - the Kuomintang (KMT). The KMT used the money to finance their ongoing civil war with the Communist Chinese. Truman "gifted" CAT with surplus US military aircraft to fly these missions. CAT was originally "owned" by the KMT and flown by US former military. The CIA "bought" CAT in 1950 and continued to operate it for the benefit of the KMT. In 1959 the CIA changed the airline's name to Air America. When the KMT were forced to abandon Yunnan Province, Air America then flew harvested opium to the KMT's new headquarters in northeastern Burma. KMT transported the opium to northwest Thailand (near Chiang Mai) where the opium was processed into heroin. Air America flew some KMT-sourced heroin to Saigon where it was trafficked to US service members. But the vast majority of KMT-sourced heroin was transported to Bangkok and sold to international wholesale dealers who in turn trafficked the heroin to Europe and California. I’ve used CBD on my knees and it definitely helped with pain. I’ve also used it on my wife’s feet and she loves it. I’m a believer!!
