In REAL epidemics almost everyone is sick, and those who aren't sick know many people who are. 2020 was not a real epidemic. Maybe there was a "virus", maybe not. We'll never know.
Younger generations haven't experienced a REAL epidemic, so they were more easily persuaded that an unknown and unfelt and unseen threat was underway.
