Whenever I heard old leftists like Noam Chomsky or Christopher Hitchens debate or expound, I always recognized formidable intellects, whether time ultimately proves them right or not. Hitchens passed on prematurely in 2011. I sometimes wonder what his take on things would be now, and whether he ever felt tempted to win the argument through sophistry against less learned opponents. Chomsky, sadly, wound up asserting that the COVID unvaxxed should basically be separated out of society. The relative handful of active lefties who I consider honest, to include people like Jeffery Sachs and Jimmy Dore, seem to be gravitating toward Trump. Those left over are apparently trapped into being churlish, infantile dimwits in a Soros bounce house. What the heck happened?
The leftists...cowbirds are considered parasites because they invade other birds nests, toss out the eggs therein and replace them with theirs and the clueless parents hatch, feed and train their adoptees. A metaphor there.
