When you are in a system that you don't fully control (yet) you have to "play the game" until you do, regardless of how evil your intentions may be!! Lenin had to play that game but his "student" Stalin didn't have those opposition hindrances so he just murdered people by the millions... as Lenin likely would have if he hadn't gotten seriously ill (poisoned?) and died!!
