I was a supporter of hers until last year when she A) voted to send my tax money to Ukraine and B) voted in favor of a national vaccination database, a clear violation of my privacy. Now I'm waiting and hoping for a true conservative to run against her.
Thanks for responding. Did you write to let her know your feelings about the vax? Unless more of us drum this into our representatives, they will assume we don't feel strongly about it. In Seattle itself, there's precious little political choice. The only small glimpse of things changing was the 2021 election of Ann Davison, a former Dem turned Republican due to the Dems "moving too far to the left", though her win was a narrow squeak against a rather extreme 'abolitionist'. Despite that, crime continues to rise and 2022 saw the highest crime rate in 15 years, partly due no doubt to the police dept. losing over 500 officers, thanks to various council members advocating their defunding. As burglaries rise and victims no longer bother reporting them, a tipping point will surely be reached eventually when even staunch Dems feel 'Enough'.
What do you think of Cathy McMorris Rodgers, a GOP member of Congress from your area?
