The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now enjoy it as well.

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions existing in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there are more than one of these religions, and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell.

With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

> This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year, that, "it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you," and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then Number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over.

The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct...leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God."

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY "A

The Praying Wall

In Jerusalem, a female journalist heard about a very old Jewish man who had been going to the Wailing Wall to pray, twice a day, everyday, for a long, long time. So she went to check it out.

She went to the Wailing Wall and there he was!

She watched him pray and after about 45 minutes, when he turned to leave, she approached him for an interview.

“Sir, how long have you been coming to the Wall and praying?”

“For about 60 years.”

“60 years! That’s amazing! What do you pray for?”

“I pray for peace. I pray for all the hatred to stop and I pray for all our children to grow up in safety and friendship.”

“How do you feel after doing this for 60 years?”

.

“Like I’m talking to a wall!”

It’s no longer referred to as the wailing wall. We now call by its correct name which is the Western Wall. In Hebrew the Kotel.

My guess is that when Teresa finds out this was shared on the internet, she's likely to go endothermic. And after that, no more chemistry with Teresa.

Quick Note; Drs. Malone, I do follow you certainly to learn, but your actions show me that you both understand there are bigger more important issues today than ourselves, thank you.

As a kid I clearly remember being taught American history. How the founding fathers were hero’s in their fight against tyranny, and how fortunate we all were to live in this unique incredible place where our freedoms were granted to us by God.

I went to kindergarten in 1970, so you know, and there was about 100 kids in my grade broken up into 3 classes. I would be schooled in some manner with most all of them for the next 13 years of my life. So getting back to dates, from the time I was born until I was 8 the American government had got us involved in the war in Vietnam fighting against the spread of “communism” while I was being taught how unique and blessed we kids all were living in the greatest free country in the history of the world. We all were in those class rooms and I assume we all were somewhat patriotic young American kids that could see how important freedom is!

To my point, it’s hard for me to understand how 50% of my classmates have been swayed away from the importance of living in a free country, now knowingly or unknowingly believe communism is good for them and their kids. I never quite realized the awesome power that is inherent in a political party. How they can corrupt the minds of so many in which individuals hand over their precious liberties without a word said and not only willingly go along with it but fight and cheer on that we all live under the lefts tyrannical thoughts and ideas. It’s incredibly dumbfounding to me that 50 out of 100 of my former elementary classmates go along with this BS.

Thank God for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is a true courageous patriot, sees these life or death threats to our civil liberties, and is willing to look beyond his former crazy insane political parties politics. He is standing up for what is good and right for all of us and what is essential for the survival of a free America knowing the left is sure to seek retribution. I pray this works. God bless RFK Jr. and keep him safe.

I’m just a smidge older than you Mr. Goodrich, but you make a very good point about your classmates. I had fallen for some of the feminist brainwashing over the years, in a way… I won’t go into detail. I still want men to be men and women to be women…. but I can and do lots of tasks that many of my female peers would never dream of doing. Because it’s hard labor, makes you sweat, makes you dirty or is physically demanding. And if I suggest a project for the house or property, I don’t step back and expect my husband to make it happen. At our home out west, we put 22 tons of river rock in the back yard, and we split that evenly, carrying buckets from the driveway round to the back hill.

Once you give something to someone for free… they never want to work for it again. It is one of our biggest flaws as humans. Think about it… do you want to get up and physically change the channel on your television? Do you want to haul out the pots and reheat your food and then clean those pots? Or do you just want to pop it in the microwave?

Your classmates, my classmates and peers… are just slightly more hardwired to go the easy route. And are more susceptible to suggestion. And that’s how that happens.

Me… I like doing things the hard way. I like to hang my clothes to dry outside on the clothesline. I like to make 70 quarts of applesauce every year. I like to raise 50 meat chickens and process them with my husband a few friends. Well, you get the point.

And never forget the guilt that so many people have for living basically like the richest people on the planet. Compared to so many others out there, we are a wealthy society. Even our “poor” live better than regular citizens in other countries. To make up for that guilt, people will fall for the equality or equity stuff. Heck, I used to put Native Americans on a pedestal until I learned some real history. They certainly were lied to and treated horribly by our people and government but they were the innocents so many liberals want you to believe they are. They were just like every other civilization in the world. We are all so much more alike than we are different.

Expand full comment

P.B., I know I've talked a lot about the plight of the Native, but I also know their history as warriors and the wars among each other. They have some karma too, and yet they were some of the earliest "victims' of our government and the fear towards them was misplaced by calling them savages. So, it's not so simple to label innocents and liberal in the same sentence.

Expand full comment

Uh, there is a typo in my comment. It should have read, " They certainly were lied to and treated horribly our people and government but they were NOT the innocent's so many liberals want you to believe they are." You could substitute "leftists" for liberals.

Does that affect your comment in any way?

Expand full comment

No, I know that there were instances of aggression and violence in the tribes, but there was also incredible wisdom and fairness and equality in many tribes. Why the divisiveness by calling people like me "liberal" and seemingly uninformed?

Expand full comment

I didn't call you anything DD. I was speaking directly to Mr. Goodrich as evidenced by the first line of my comment, "I'm just a smidge older than you Mr. Goodrich..."

It did not take long to import, digest, circulate and regurgitate communism into the life blood of the nation. That great leap occurred when the ’science’ of Darwinism replaced the ‘myth’ of a Creator.

The patriotism of old was a form of conditioning to make us comfortable with the Government’s hidden malfeasance. It’s interesting that the party that originally fomented that malfeasance, while implementing progressivism is now pledging to enact communism outright.

One of the most whopping correlations in all social science - nearly equal to “IQ and grades” is “political preference for left wing authoritarianism and low verbal intelligence”.

Other less significant factors predictive of preference for LWA governance are:

Women

Female temperament

AND RFK, jr, is willing to sacrifice--or at least this is what I have read-- his bid for President to STOP KAMALA et al. He would stand with Trump. I think they could make an excellent team. Neither are yes men. They are willing to talk to the "other side." They both love our Democratic REPUBLIC.

Expand full comment

Trump is doing the same thing he did the first time he was elected ie making outrageous proclamations because I don’t think he really thought he would win. He just wanted to highlight the corruption already rotting out the country. Hence MAGA was the battle cry.

His last attempt at the White House was clearly stolen by the use of the COVID scare to allow for write-in votes and consequently stuffed ballot-boxes in the Joe Biden victory.

This time around the Judiciary was used to attempt a character assassination that would end his political career. It wasn’t working according to Plan A expectations so Plan B was orchestrated. That didn’t work either. Trump’s God appointed time was not up.

Now he’s up against Harris and everyone is complaining that he doesn’t talk about the issues; he only trash talks Harris. But he doesn’t have to. People already know where he stands on issues because they’ve seen him in action the first time he was President. And, he very nearly did make America great again.

At this point, if Trump doesn’t win the presidency, he will be like the tragic Cassandra on the walls of Troy pleading with the citizens to not bring the Trojan Horse into the city. To their ruin they didn’t listen but not because they weren’t warned.

Maybe that is why Trump was spared on July 13th.

I just watched all of RFK Jr. This was a plea for our children and our health, first and foremost; from what I heard. He was very emotional a number of times while speaking of what he felt was his mission from God and his making these decisions against the wishes of his wife and children. This is a man that stands out in his courage and strength. No one is perfect as a human, and yet, to be able to put the Nation's welfare above his own is stellar. Unity is hard to come by, he is doing what he sees is best to achieve this as well as a sincere commitment to the health and well being of us all.

I was just ruminating about some friends I know who are on the "I'm a Democrat for all the right reasons" program. As Tucker said, Harris is adept at lying with a good cover, if you don't bother to look behind the curtain. Wickedly funny! laughed till I cried. The DNC scares the living shit out of me and a huge percentage of people believe the lies they are being told. If she doesn't know what to say, she cackles that cringe worthy nervous "What am I doing here? Can we change the subject?" laugh.

Just watched the Tucker Carlson/Jeffrey Sachs interview and if everything he says is true.. WOW, what an eye opener, so many lies the government told us or the MEDIA didn't tell us .. paid for by the Government. So much history that I was unaware of, "UNPROVOKED" War in Ukraine started in 2014? NATO should have been disbanded when the Cold War was over? Boris Yeltsin wanted to join NATO after the Soviet Union was broken up, but Clinton and Albright said NO? WTF ?? ALL European countries INCLUDING Ukraine did NOT want Ukraine to join NATO? I recall TRUMP saying that NATO should be disbanded, looks like he was right. Imagine, a president that tells the truth sometimes? Building military bases was unnecessary and were not needed to preserve democracy? Americans could have put those Trillions into their own country making huge infrastructure improvements rather than building military bases all around the world to spread, I mean save democracy??? Sorry if you all knew this and I am just catching up.
