I kinda, sorta had to laugh (and fume) at the part about this:
The proposed Nutrition Info box is informed by a substantial body of research conducted by the FDA, including a scientific literature review, consumer focus groups and a peer-reviewed experimental study. In 2023, the FDA conducted an experimental study of nearly 10,000 U.S. adults to further explore consumer responses to three different types of FOP labels.
So a label with three items, two of which are useless if you go keto. Neither fats nor salt are of any importance. Knowing how much sugar is good. However, 5 % of a serving isn’t low sugar. So totally useless.
So yeah, that's the sad part of this being humorous. That they would spend who knows what on that "substantial body of research" (tax $$$ be darmed) to create a label with 3 ingredients we "silly" folks, over how many years, haven't figured out are bad for us. Guess they think if we can read low, low, low we will be happy little sheep.
That box is a complete farce. It's not all that different in content from the box on the back. The thing that burns me is the need to cater to a shopper who will not spend the time to make an informed decision about their health. And how quickly they will believe that the only nutrients that matter are saturated fats, sodium, and sugar.
What about a large sign mounted on the ends of the grocery store aisles?
On a somewhat related note regarding funnies, did anybody else see this today!

You'll understand when you see the BOX.

Not to mention these same 3 ingredients are already listed (with grams & %) on back of container.
I'd like to see a section in large, bold type that lists the "Ingredients that may be toxic" or some such.

Clearly the FDA needs a new boss!
