I especially like that “leftist” was used, rather than “liberal”, as the Left has given up any pretense of being liberal in any traditional sense.

Absolutely spot-on, Michael. I couldn't agree more. Back when I was at the U it felt like a breeding ground for fascist rhetoric, constantly spewing hate-filled diatribes. The atmosphere there was toxic, like you couldn't express a dissenting opinion without facing backlash. Sad. Very sad. Intellectual life is over.

Maybe not. Before starting uni pushed a mop in a hospital to earn some of the expense and had several perhaps more intellectual discussions there in those few months than I did in 4 yrs of uni. Its out there.
