As much as I like "Stay Brave, Stay Free," if we're XX biological females (this is how I answer when asked for my "gender" instead of my sex in medical settings), we know that "Stayfree" is a popular brand of disposable menstrual products. Maybe "Remain brave and free" is a better option for this reason!

I work in healthcare administration and remember when major medical journals started using the term "gender" instead of "sex" in peer-reviewed articles, which I think was about 20-25 years ago. At the time I was naive and thought this was just a "polite" way of accomodating historic American (and British) prudeness about S-E-X. Unfortunately I was very, VERY wrong.

The healthcare organization for which I work has not yet given us direction about required autumnal influenza injections. This is making me VERY nervous, since we usually receive this by early August. I will admit (with great shame, especially on this particular Substack) that I did not resign when my employer mandated COVID-19 injections (via Biden) in August 2021. My reason for not receiving one prior had been "but I'm reasonably certain I've already had COVID" (which I was; I think I had it in early December 2019), an excuse that rational people seemed to accept. I did NOT, however, receive an mRNA injection but the Janssen injection (viral victor), which was still available at that time in limited supply, mainly through hospital-affiliated pharmacies. In addition (based on a small-study PubMed abstract I'd read), afterward I took VERY large doses of the nutritional supplement bromelain for three months. I was not afraid to take large doses of bromelain, as I had used smaller doses for "ortho" reasons for years.

Now the Janssen injection is no longer available; I think it was taken off the market in May 2023. If my employer mandates COVID-19 injections for 2024-2025, I'll have to resign from my job (or lose ALL self-respect/mental health if I consent to mRNA injection) and am not easily re-employable, at least not in the traditional sense. The ONLY good thing about renewed COVID-19 mRNA injection mandates would be that this would practically guarantee a Trump victory. . .provided, of course, that the election is honest.
