Peer reviewed means not one damn thing today un!ess you can convince anyone that viral geneticists regularly peer review fish and game papers. Peer review today often means selected editors sending manuscripts to selected reviewers. I doubt many who cited that paper ever heard of it until it was broached by the authors in more mainstream venues. And as for a MPH it is in my experience largely held by physicians as leg up in administration with little more required of them than a course in statistics. It does not usually come with a heavy dose of science but rather more in public health admin.
