As a vegetarian for over half a century (no meat, fish or eggs), and in excellent health, I can tell you that eating a dairy and plant-based diet is easily achievable without eating foods with seed oils, too much added salt, glyphosate tainted, over-sweetened, etc. You do need to primarily stick to organic/all natural/ local (when possible) options to accomplish this. Pricier? Yes. Of course, you could eat less (which for most Americans is not a bad idea). As far as Bobby Kennedy's push for healthier eating, I'm thinking the best thing he can do is use his position to educate the people about what they are eating and giving them reasons to care about it, while also encouraging the food industry to be more mindful about what they put in their products. If enough people are educated and buy accordingly, then market forces should get the food industry to self-correct to the degree that the population is self-correcting. For this libertarian, that would be much better than more regulation.
