At one point it was Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. I met David Crosby in a bar up in Snowmass, CO. in my late 20s. Also, met Jimmy Buffet. Was not super impressed with either of their personalities. On the other hand, I met Steve Weisberg, a back up guitarist with John Denver. He was a true gentleman.
Correct the song was written by Graham Nash and was first released by Crosby, Stills and Nash in 1969. Later Neil Young joined the group and the song was re-released on their 1972 album.
Oh boy, sounds like we have some life experiences that have been similar. I used to cut the hair of the Monks in Snow mass. They were 'think out of the box' guys. As you may have guessed, I cut the Denver family hair at their house and was a masseuse to John . Those were the days...
I have all the CSN&Y albums, & used to listen to all of them, even when the band changed. I saw a show on the cable network, Discovery; the show is Homestead Rescue, & one episode had the son of Graham Nash & his wife, needing help from Marty Raney- someone who gears up & helps folks in need of rescuing their homestead. The son of Graham Nash is close to a replica of his Dad! Plays guitar & sings; imagine that!
I remember the name, but don't associate it with any pieces. On the other hand I mostly focused on pieces rather than the singers.
