European countries are mostly the size of many of our states so issues like illegal immigration have a more immediate impact on their citizens than it appears to have on ours. Ours are still being bamboozled by msm and USG to all het up about the weather.
Also, the 4th largest city in the US, Dallas, the only large city with Rep. mayor because he changed over from Dems last week and is announcing a new organization of mayors to get the big cities healthy again.
As an aside, I just received an email from Gov A welcoming me to Texas. While I did entertain that possibility a while back, being as sole person in a new environment proved more challenging than I could handle. Am kinda bemused at all this. :)
I experienced the primacy effect many years before I knew what it was, when I learned as a child that Sweden had the highest life expectancy in the world. For most of my life Sweden occupied in my mind the unofficial position of "the most ideal society." Only recently has Sweden been knocked off the pedestal.
From the BBC in 2019:
"Sweden's 100 explosions this year: What's going on?"
"This category of crime was not even logged prior to 2017. Then, in 2018, there were 162 explosions and in the past two months alone the bomb squad have been called to almost 30."
If we had first world elections here in the US, we would expect a shift to the conservatives as well (few as they may be in our current environment).

We can take some heart with the blue cities starting to scream and point fingers.

What I was reflecting on was Gohmers territory to the East of Dallas. but not outgoing enough to make the grade.
