Nuplazid for example was advertised heavily for PD dementia/Lewy Body Dementia. My husband had been a long time on Seroquel, when this came out which worked, but I was hoping for something maybe safer (even tho he didn't have noticeable probs with what he was taking amd he was on it for 12 years). Dr. never even mentioned Nuplazid and when I asked he said "it doesn't work." lol
Yes I love DrMercola have his books, read website Newsletter practically daily, and buy supplements. I will look at midwesterndoctor and Dr. Thomas Levy books thank you very much!
You're welcome. Dr. Levy is retired; he used to be a board member of the infamous naturopathic Riordan Medical Clinic in Kansas. As a naturopath MD, he's also a bio-chemist and conveys the same in his books to give readers a superior understanding of metabolic and immunologic processes. Dittos for author Dr. Kate Rheaume-Bleue.
I just did a quick online search these are excellent references. I've been recently dx with a low-grade follicular lymphoma. I blame it on 12 years as 24/7 caregiver. Stress, poor sleep, etc. I'm seeing a lot of "Metabolic theory": on cancer and many other conditions, so thank you for helping me narrow it down some.
Yes he used all sorts of alternatives but the traditional carbadopa levo dopa aka sinemet , was the only thing that worked for the PD symptoms of stiffness and shaking. He was on it for almost 29 years. I don't know of any alternative treatments which would help with the major hallucinations which describes PD dementia, and after that he developed other dementias and aphasia in his last few months. He went the distance with Parkinsons well past the 10 years his Dr predicted. He was diagnosed at age 50 and died this past July at age 78. More good days than bad and never lost his sense of humor. Sorry for the long reply and thank you for the referral I appreciate it.
My father passed away at age 84 in 2004 of Lewy Body dementia. He didn’t live a year after he was diagnosed. I feel certain he had it for much longer than we realized.

MrsMc- are you familiar with substack author A Midwestern Doctor?
They write about many alternative treatments for all kinds of conditions.
https://www.midwesterndoctor.com/
Just as good and more in-depth perhaps as Dr. Mercola's treatises.....
Don't forget Dr. Thomas Levy's bio-med and bio-chemistry books

MrsMc- I am deeply sorry for your loss.

LBD is tough, so scary and the only med we found to help had a warning not to give to elderly. Thank you for telling me.
Many blessings to you and your family.
Thank you MrsMc - God bless you.
