Loved the Roy Clark Folsom Prison Blues video — and the Jimmy Dean Show!

Dr. Malone, you sure hang out with the cool kids. Early in her journey to the other side, Naomi Wolf lamented her extradition from the cool kids table. Now she has a table all her own, filled with the coolest kids on the planet.

You wrote: The take home message that I get from this cartoon - is that we all have to get out and vote in the primaries, as well as general elections. It is in the primaries where we lose a lot of our conservative candidates - particularly in purple regions. It is by getting out and voting, that things will change in the House and Senate.
💯🎯The importance of primaries cannot be overemphasized, especially in a red-state like Idaho where most people run and are registered Republican (R) but true conservatives often get knocked out of primary races. Some have tried running as Independents to bypass a crowded Republican field in the primaries, but the strategy hasn’t worked out for most. Many Rs are entrenched and nearly impossible to dislodge (not because they are good, but because they are entrenched).
Left-leaning Republicans are rapidly destroying education, conservative values, and fiscal responsibility in the state. Why is this happening in primaries? A few answers here:
1. Some cheating is happening for sure.
2. Left-leaning “establishment” Rs (of which there are many) smear the conservative Rs mercilessly and without facts, often with Democrat and big business backing (especially Big Pharma, Big Ag, Big Real Estate, and Big Tech collectively championed by IACI — https://www.iaci.org).
3. Many true Democrats register Republican and vote in Republican primaries for the least conservative R, who often turns out to be a Democrat in Republican clothing. This activity intentionally dilutes true conservative representation.
4. Many natives are clueless this is happening and newcomers are just relieved not to be living in the places they fled, so they ignore primaries.
Fortunately, a mini-revolution has begun in the Republican Party of Idaho, led by now-Idaho GOP Chair Dorothy Moon and new leadership in the state’s largest Republican Central Committee (Ada County). It’s a Battle Royale for sure.
2022 was a prime example of many of your points. Both McConnell and McCarthy used PACs to undermine conservatives and the Dems cheated their way to victory again (AZ the prime example). In CO, they ran two fake R people in the R primary for SOS against Tina Peters, who was helping the Pillow guy. The winner was Pam Anderson who was on the board of Center for Tech and Civic Life, a 'non profit' funded by the Skoll Foundation, the Democracy Fund, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. This is the org that got $350m Zuck bucks. The Dem incumbent SOS won.
What a tragic way to lose our country. Also, they use sweet-sounding names for organizations that are anything but sweet: Center for Tech and Civic Life, indeed! Reclaim Idaho, indeed! BAH!
People lie, cheat and steal for no reason and no gain all the time. When given the chance to lie, cheat and steal for a “reason” they do it with gusto and in a state of euphoria. That is why the puppet masters spend more time with their naming conventions then the actual acts of deceit.
It seems almost impossible it could get nastier than it has been. It is one thing for a party to play dirty, but when they attract the other party to join in it's a new type of ballgame. That become a coach, pitcher and catcher against the opposing team and their own team. We saw that at the national level through 2016-2020 and again with the current mix in Congress.

Sweat shirt: Bonus points for anyone who can figure this out. I’m sexy and I know it. (Cheated here: https://humornama.com/community/joke/what-is-the-root-over-1-tan2-c-joke/ and https://www.symbolab.com/popular-algebra/algebra-383273) — but, of course, you provided the answer!

Clinching the destruction could be a terrible ballot initiative for 2024 to create jungle primaries (aka open primaries) and ranked choice voting (see more at https://eolson47.substack.com/p/jungle-primaries-and-ranked-choice).

The worm may be turning in Texas but expect it to be nasty.
