The thing about Jags is they were always a maintenance nightmare. Was given a ride in one of the first E-series imported here and the owner had the tailpipe(s) wired to the chasis. Was not a happy owner. Their engines basically designed for racing and hated stop and go driving...needed frequent tune ups

Expand full comment

Yup they only seemed to work on the James Bond movies.

Um, that was the Aston Martin DB-5, first used in Goldfinger. Which is to say, another not very practical, but sexy looking, British sports car.

Oh, but they were lovely. Won a Jaguar for a long weekend in a charity auction. Drove the back roads from Washington State to British Columbia, enjoyed every minute. Returned to the dealer at the end of the trip and still have moments of regret about that. Not every joy in life has to be "practical".

They new how to tan cowhides into the finest leather seating and door panels.

But the Italians always did it one leap better. I drove a 2018 Maserati convert 2 seater with twin turbo 660 hp with paddle shifters and 6000 rpm rev limiters.

But the interior was all wrapped in rich dark choco leather with stitching that would make a Mexican boot maker weep with envy. UNREAL use of fine leather.

Impossible to drive it as a concerned motorist! So I didn't!!! VROOOOOM......

Lucky you! I have no memories of riding in a Maserati or a fine leather interior. Yes, let's hear it for VROOOOM!

Of all the things that a proud owner could ever enjoy is the craftsmanship of the finest auto cockpit money can buy. It need not even have to leave the garage. Just sit in splendor and smell the excellence. PS Its a ROCKETSHIP!

Expand full comment

My body remembers the speed and agility of my Alfa. Its cockpit was nothing special. The thought of a rocketship is quite stirring.

Here's the end of that story: traded it in on a diesel Mercedes sedan. I needed reliable more than I needed sporty. I've been driving Mercedes ever since, I'm on my 5th? Handsome, comfortable, conservative gas guzzler, safe, and paid for. It handles well, for a medium-sized sedan (E350). The glory Mercedes was a 1998 S500, a V12. On mountain roads it handled better than the Alfa (when I could overcome caution and fear). I quickly came to appreciate the MPG meter, it could suck gas at 70 MPH.

I went looking for a pic of a 130. What I found was a XK 130. I know hardly anything about the models. Speaking of roadster look, what about the TR3? A co-worker had one maybe 60 years ago, when we were a bit younger. Somehow I think of that car having a roadster look.

It's so much fun these days seeing one of those cars on the streets near me. Glad they are still runnng and well-kept and . . . appreciated.

Thanks for the coffee & covid tip. Ad is on point, but I’ll never trust them again.

On the other hand, in that C&C site, it spoke about a Salon owner (Shelley Luther) who was jailed during covid and now is in the legislature speaking about limiting the Governor’s emergency powers. THIS is what’s needed! On another substack, (Igor Chudov), I learned that the announcement from Trump on his appointment of Dr. Janette Nesheiwat as Surgeon General includes, “…she worked on the front lines…and helped patients in the aftermath of President Donald trump’s Historic Operation Warp Speed that saved hundreds of millions of lives.” This is from November 22, 2024 And also that Nesheiwat is wholeheartedly supported by Prof Peter Hotez, MD. PhD

I have such a sinking feeling about this. He record doesn’t look like someone who will stand up to inconvenient truths but rather someone who will follow behind “the Science”. I can’t imagine Trump couldn’t have found a better nominee.

I’m always amazed how “right here” I learn so much. I’m very grateful for the Malones, all of your great hard work, and all of you that constantly give me different perspectives, make me think and learn, thank you. I’ve always said “hang out with smarter people and you will continue to learn”, thanks for letting me be here!

One thing I’ve learned over my 60 years is when I see someone that is working really hard, struggled to raise good kids, or someone helping another, I honor them with a compliment, “your doing a great job”. We all carry honor and have it to give. When we honor someone we’re not just doing them a favor, we are doing ourselves a favor. When showing honor there is a commanded blessing that will be returned back into our own life. It can be as simple as giving up your seat to an older person, let someone go ahead of you in a line, or just complimenting someone. The amount of honor that you show is directly related to the amount of Gods favor you will see in your life.

Paul said in Ephesians 6 “Honor your father and mother” which is the first commandment with a promise, “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy a long life”. This is saying, honor should start at home. It should start in our own family with those closest to us. We should never treat complete strangers better than our family or spouse, it should be opposite that. Young people should listen to their parents. Mark Twain said “When I was 14, my father was so dumb, I could hardly stand to be around him, but when I got to be 21, I was amazed at how much the man had learned”. We should not honor our parents with just words but with how we treat them.

One thing I am sure of, you will never change a dishonorable situation by adding more dishonor. That will always make matters worse. Honoring someone lifts them. You should honor people the way you would want them to be.

I can’t tell you how much respect I have for women. For centuries women have worked and fought for their position in this world. In a general sense, you will never gain honor, and should not gain that honor, by dishonoring women, plain and simple. You will never receive what you are not willing to give, and if you don’t give honor you won’t have honor. The present dishonor shown to women today saddens me. It is a sign of a sickness spread in our society. The key to a breakthrough that we pray for, is to honor the people and women that God has put in our lives in a greater way.

The only way I see so many of these problems in our world today being resolved, is for people and government to return to honoring and respecting the people, and their God given freedoms, free thoughts, privacies and liberties, anything short of that is surely done with the intent to divide us. Well, as much as I appreciate the Friday and Sunday blessings, my main takeaway the past few months is that i need a larger screen and smaller thumbs. 😉 😂 💰 Fortunately, perhaps, my iPhone Tennis (XS) is EOL’d so in only 10, 11 months my wish will come true.

Now, as for more, or any, respect from the gummint, do mean from those we elect to manage and thems that are employed to run the gummint? Then I’m with you, BUT gov’t in/of/by itself cannot do respect as it is an artificial entity. To get to the respect I agree we need/should have will require limiting the size of gov’t by enacting term limits, returning the Senate to the States, eliminating the civil servants from exercising legislative like ability (force the Legislature to BE a legislature) and limiting the size of the civil service and the length of time one works for/in civil service - the idea being that at some point, sooner than later, everyone/anyone in any facet of government will have to return to and live amongst the people

Expand full comment

I actually remember when civil servants earned less for the same work than on the outside. Now I believe earn 30% more. Look for that union label!

Expand full comment

When I was a gov ee (a good while ago) I used to reflect on how unfair it seemed that we were being paid so much more than the private sectot. The PS was where real work was happening.

Expand full comment

Back in the deep dark dim recesses of what I humorously call my memory, don’t remember if it was a governmental history class or a law school class, I do remember that the civil service classification was a compromise: in exchange for some employment protections they settled for lower wages than in the private sector and no unionization. Well, we can see how that faired: most of the top income counties in USofA surround DC and gummint unions are the only unions that are really growing.

I shouldn’t, but I do have a bit of a conflict in this: dad went to work for the gummint right after he completed his Ph.D program, starting as a post doc, and kept climbing the GS ladder right to end. The thing that bugs me is I’m not sure he would have had as successful a career doing what he did in the area he was in the private sector - 🤷‍♀️. What further bugs me is that even when the private sector shrinks the gummint sector continues to grow. The gummint produces nothing (well, essentially nothing), the private sector is the engine but we allow the GS to act as a governor on the PS - as a result when we should be having the greatest growth in the modern era due to the transformative power of current tech we’re practically idling. We have massive transfer of wealth from the productive sector to unproductive lay-abouts, invaders, etc., but also to the government sector. The amount of friction involved in this fiscal flow is so great if it obeyed the laws of physics/thermodynamics we would’a reached self-combustion a decade or more ago.

Expand full comment

SR Miller, I don’t think I’ve said this before but I am hoping and looking forward to shrinkage! (of government) When I look at people like Merrick Garland, Tony Blinken, James Sullivan, and the rest of these characters, too many to list, I see them all sleeping on their feathered beds, stuffing their faces will filets and lobsta’s and sending innocent people to prison, law fare, and now sending our kids off to war, so they can get more wealthy. You can work for a company that helps make a gear or a computer chip a cone for a missile or a company that makes nasal swabs and machines to test for Covid, and you all got fithy rich off the suffering of others. Sure you were just making the pieces, doing what you were told, watching your account grow while others struggled. Well I hope struggling people that actually produce the things everyday people need and want will see an uptick in their bank accounts. It’s funny when I talk to people that have profited greatly off the pandemic and the wars they’re all upset and worried about Trump being president. They wanted Harris to continue their income stream. I have a neighbor that lobbied congress for money to get everything the army gets, he’s said from a bullet to a Blackhawk helicopter to Abraham tanks, he was a lieutenant colonel. When Biden got in he said things went back to normal. It got back to a blank check, anything he wanted he got. He said with Trump they went line by line and would deny money going out the door. I think this time Trump will be worse for those people. That’s why the deep state is so panicked. Trump has so much to do, I hope he’s successful. I fear for him and our country.

I agree with you, James, about the need to honor & respect one another. I think that lack of honor is what has been so deeply disturbing for me over the last 3+ years, since the deployment of these "vaccines" that have clearly harmed & killed so many people. Our federal health officials, who most certainly know the damage they have caused, continue, by & large, to promote & support their use. This is the epitome of disrespect as well as total disregard for the health & well-being of the population. Additionally, anything that would have been helpful & life-saving, was disparaged, suppressed, or disallowed, including vitamin-D, which would have gone a long way in helping to ameliorate more serious illness. Can you think of anything more egregious? In other words, the policies they implemented actively contributed to people's demise, either by commission or by omission. That to me is both unconscionable & unforgivable. There is also a serious lack of shame. As for myself, whenever I have done something that was less than honorable, I felt shame. If you do not feel any sense of shame, there will never be any course correction. It will always be more of the same. This is what we have come to expect from our government, our federal health officials in particular. How sad is that....

Not to detract from these really funny cartoons/clips (love the one about eating noses), but is anyone else having a problem with some of Trump's cabinet picks? I am especially concerned with his choice for Surgeon General, Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, who heavily promoted the covid "vaccines", masking, lockdowns, and censorship. Also, Dr. Makary who also supported the "vaccines" for adults & masking. Keep in mind, that Johns Hopkins is where Event 201 took place - the tabletop exercise that immediately preceded covid. Dr. Makary is a health policy expert at the school of medicine there. This association makes me uncomfortable. Previously, I had a high regard for his assessment of what ails the medical-industrial complex having read his book, "Unaccountable" several years ago. I also question Trump's choice of Dr. Oz as to the best of my understanding, he was also in favor of the covid "vaccines", as well as all vaccines, & is pro trans surgeries. If I am mistaken about any of this, I would welcome any corrections. Not sure who is advising Trump on these choices, but I am beginning to think there is a hidden agenda.

I know in this touchy-feely lookame age the new wave of millennials who are now running marketing and advertising agencies are clueless about fundamental rules of commerce. I am speaking from experience in working as a photo stylist for a catalog production agency. The first rule is know your customer base. The second rule is offer good product and service. The third rule is offer your product for a competitive price. And there's the bottomline. Feelings do not matter more than sales and the numbers on the spread sheets. What I do not understand is the executives not knowing this. Is this the Peter Principal in action - those who rise to their level of incompetence? In the end, the numbers matter. Hi Dr. Malone, I'm curious what you're thinking about Trump's "MAHA" picks. They've been jarring, and are throwing a lot of us into a tailspin about why Trump is not opening his eyes to truth about the COVID pseudo-vaccine. I thought I'd share some insights for an idea about a path forward for Trump, MAHA, and our nation, in case anyone here finds them helpful.

1. Trump's picks appear to be in line with his current belief that COVID vaccines "saved hundreds of millions of lives," as per his Nov. 22 statement announcing his pick of Dr. Janette Nesheiwat for Surgeon General.

2. In 2020, Trump championed a bioweapon-based vaccine that we now know is responsible for untold suffering and death, but with him leaving office around the time of the rollout, he really could not have known about it or taken action.

3. Out of office, he doubled down and considered Operation Warp Speed a prime achievement.

4. The internal resistance he must be facing to open his eyes to the dangers of this pseudo-vaccine must be extraordinary. Yet his current, largely nauseating "MAHA" picks show he MUST open his eyes for health policy to be based on truth and minimize further vaccine harm.

5. What do you think the success would be of a message, spearheaded by you and other MAHA Avengers :D, that basically says:

"President Trump, we understand how horrific it must be to even start to contemplate that the vaccines you championed have not saved hundreds of millions of lives, they've instead harmed millions of lives. But we want to let you know that we understand you could not have known about harmful they were while you were in office. Heck, I'm the inventor of the mRNA COVID vaccine platform, and I didn't know they were harmful at first either. I actually got the vaccines AFTER you left office. So if I didn't know while you were in office, no one can blame you for not knowing either.

But after I was injured from the COVID vaccines, I realized that the safeguards decision-makers should be able to assume are in place were not in place.

And it prompted me to completely flip my stance on these: from personally using them, to vociferously warning against them.

Your key MAHA health advisors know they are incredibly harmful, and yet you aren't seeing it. It must be because you love the American people so much, you cannot contemplate having any position that would unknowingly bring us harm.

You face a Herculean task to open your eyes to the truth about vaccine harm. One that only the most courageous among us in the world could possibly succeed at. But Americans know your courage. We saw it the day God saved you from the bullet meant to bring you down. And they are sending me a message to pass on to you: 'We love you. We support you. We pray for you. And we need one of the most courageous heroes in the world to summon all his courage and open his eyes once and for all to the truth that is clear to see: the COVID vaccines are bad news, and they must be stopped. The undisclosed DNA contamination alone shows us that.'

The path forward requires two commitments: One from you and one from the American people. Your commitment to us is that you will prioritize amassing the incredible courage it will take to consider the truth: that these vaccines are indeed dangerous. And America's commitment to you must be that we understand that what we are asking of you, to open your eyes to the truth, can only succeed to the extent that we surround you with love and understanding. So we call on all Americans to do our part and pray for you and surround you with love, and we call on you to amass the courage we need you to have to protect us from vaccines in the same manner you protect us from tyranny."

Expand full comment

Or...if he is so fond of r.f.k.jr. ....does he pay no attention to his advice on the jab or is jr. living up to my expectations?

Expand full comment

The truth about the vaccines is so easy to see, and Trump is surrounded by the MAHA experts who can easily show it to him. The fact that he doubled down just a few days ago with his official statement that they saved millions of lives points to a colossal blind spot. There must be some kind of psychological principle in play that makes him, to date, so impervious to the truth about them. That's where this message comes from. It must be exceedingly painful to realize the truth when you're at his level, and his brain may be shielding him from that pain.

Expand full comment

Called egotism. Very difficult to ever admit a mistake, particularly one of this magnitude

Expand full comment

Yes, but beyond that, to admit a mistake that has such devastating consequences on those you care about, simultaneously while you persevere through assassination attempts and lawfare that has the goal of humiliating you, bankrupting you, and imprisoning you behind cold steel bars for the rest of your life...It takes almost inconceivable strength to face that.

To the extent Trump has "faults" that make it hard for him to see vaccine dangers, those same "faults" gave our entire world a second chance to save ourselves from the crushing boot of tyranny on our throat. I'm praying for him.

Expand full comment

The level of inner strength it would take for Trump to wake up to this reminds me of someone ready to sell their $100 million dollar hotel, and a realtor telling them hidden mold has been found, the hotel is worthless, and will make people sick. There is a tremendous temptation to go along with the other realtor who says, "That wasn't mold, it was just dirt. But don't worry, I painted over it, found a buyer, and everything is okay.

This awakening to the truth of vaccine harm would, in his mind, turn one of his lifetime's greatest achievements, into one of his worst mistakes. That's a very tough pill to swallow.
