Women even get hurt in women's sports, but at least they have a chance. My 5'3" granddaughter got a concussion playing at the net, and a really tall girl (5'9" or taller) on opposing team slammed the ball just over the net right into Annie's head. I can tell you what could have happened. Her name is P:ayton McNabb, at 17 she was hit in the head by a spiked volley ball coming over the net from a trans on the other team, at a North Carolina high school game in 2022. She suffered a concussion and neck injury. She said she still struggles with the effects of her injuries, including impaired vision, partial paralysis on the right side of her body, unremitting headaches, anxiety and depression.

In April 2023 she testified at a NC legislative hearing - “I’m here for every biological female athlete behind me. My little sister, my cousins, my teammates. Allowing biological males to compete against biological females is dangerous. I may be the first to come before you with an injury, but if this doesn’t pass, I won’t be the last.”

The legislature passed three LGBT-related bills, one banned transgender athletes from participating in girls sports. The Dem Governor veto all three bills July 2023 and the legislature over-road his veto in August 2023.

NC was one of 5 Red states to ban transgenders in girls sport in 2023. 18 Red states had taken that measure in prior years.
