Viktor Frankl, a man who survived the death camps, made a good point when he said America needs a Statute of Responsibility on the west coast to complement the east coast’s Statute of Liberty, since ‘unrestrained freedom leads into mere arbitrariness.’ Freedom without responsibility is not only bad, but it’s rather foolish to allow a central government to take our hard-earned bread out of our hands - and waste it no less - to make us unhealthy! Is that unconscionable and simply stupid?
We the People are to blame for creating the government we have – and creating the idea that the government should take care of us. And, this is exactly why Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Tytler, Tocqueville, et. al, all warned that all democracies (even constitutional republics intended to protect us from the tyranny of the majority) will lead to tyranny (because the electorate is ignorant and wants free stuff.)
So, the question we should all ask is, what do we need a central government for anyway? Jefferson said all foreign matters should be national (national defense) and all domestic matters should be left to the states.
Encourage the District Attorneys even better State Attorney Generals (Paxton in Texas) to file charges against FBI employees who arrive in mass early in the morning with guns drawn to arrest Grandmothers who were praying in front of abortion clinics or attended a peaceful speech on Jan 6 in Washington DC.. Many of those arrests were made in violation of the Constitutional rights of Texas and the US citizens. Then let the repercussions rise on up to find those in DC who ordered such action. Let them face jurys here in Texas. AG Paxton already has over 100 suits filed for other reasons against the Biden DOJ and has been winning many of them. Encourage the same approach in other states.
A "Statue" of "RESPONSIBILITY" is a great idea - needed on the west coast, as TALL and imposing as the Statue of Liberty in the east coast.
Few people realize that while our Founders bequeathed the incredible gift of INDIVIDUAL sovereignty ( for the first and ONLY time in 5000 years of recorded history), individual RESPONSIBILITY is a concomitant part of that freedom - which today - in the humongous "welfare state" America has become is virtually totally forgotten.

The states need to rear back on their hind legs and take back the governance the framers of our Constitution gave them.
love the metaphor.

Well said
Who is Tytler??????
Alexander Tytler - an 18th Scottish historian who saw a repeat of the same cycle repeatedly in past democracies:
