When it comes to your soul and life after death, you should consider the consequences of not heeding the warnings on the packs of cigarettes—you are now experiencing that consequence. It will be far worse for you to not heed the warnings of rejecting God by rejecting Jesus as the only way to be forgiven and to be reconciled to God through him. Did you go into the Navy? My dad served in the Army in the Korean War, and in the Air Force in Vietnam—around 1967. I joined the Army at age 17 in 1976. Grateful that I served during peace time, though I was willing to deploy. It would have affected me negatively to see my friends hurt or killed.

That Fall the Navy decided they didn't want me either, so I got three years of college, books and fees paid for but no service required. Also weird, as I had to pass a physical to get into the NROTC program, and a physical each year while in the program. In 1969, the Navy apparently had a surplus of young officers, so even some of my cohorts who completed the program were out in ~9 months.
Then the Army tried to draft me; I think I pissed off the draft board by telling them I wouldn't swear at the hearing because I was an atheist. Finally classified 4F when I sent copies of my knee X-rays and two orthopedists' reports to the Surgeon General. I have a condition called Osgood-Schlatter disease, which means in practice that I can't crawl w/o becoming disabled with water on the knees. So I don't crawl or kneel.
Interesting story. If you did not have knee problems, the Army would have given you those problems, as we ran everyday in combat boots. Because of the injuries of the lower extremities, the military across the board stopped running in combat boots for Physical Training in 1982–too late for me. My knees were damaged because of it.
I will say that being in the Army was a highlight of my life, as it helped to develop the innate discipline and character I had. I loved wearing the uniform, and what it represented to me—freedom and the Spirit of ‘76.
At the age of 17, I did not understand the difference between Republican and Democrat, until I served under Jimmy Carter—he cut the military budget so much, I was asked to clean my M-16 with bore patches, by cutting up my t-shirt—true story—so I handed the Armorer my M-16, and said, “I will give my life for my nation but not my t-shirt” and walked away. No, different problem. At Corpus Christi for flight training the year before, I ran a 4 minute, 25 second mile in combat boots, 2nd fastest in the midshipman company. I just can’t kneel unless it’s on a really thick gel pad. And before Corpus Christi, I survived amphibious training at Little Creek, VA by scooting under the barbed wire on the obstacle course w/o touching down on my knees. We also did three-mile runs in combat boots, and all I needed was salt tablets, provided by the Marine Colonel in charge.
The doctors at Quantico said that going through the training would cripple me, but I didn’t agree, citing my experience at Little Creek (not that my opinion counted). I was sent home at the end of the week. Then my heart murmur was evaluated at St. Albans Naval Hospital by the Chief of Cardiology to be the result of a very athletic life (football, ice hockey, lacrosse, & track), and enlarged ventricles moving more blood than the valves could handle, not valve damage. Some thoughts on vaccines. We now know that profits are the main drivers of criminal behavior by pharma. That needs changing and one way to tone it down would be the creation of a federal vaccine authority to manufacture all vaccines deemed essential for the overall public health of the nation and provide them at cost where/when needed. That would eliminate the pressure by the gov on pharma to over produce stocks and then encourage their over use to keep the profit drive for their manufacture operating. And then allow for a less profit driven assessment of what is really needed. Perhaps the research apparatus could apply itself to the warp speed development of effective antivirals since it has been made unequivically clear that vaccines are a poor offering against RNA viruses and would lessen the use of essentially weak to virtually useless vaccines.
And that would be a good thing . Today I keep hearing about emerging microbial public health threats that were rare if even present at all when I was a public health bacteriologist in the '60s. One oddity. "Sex assigned at birth" An infant arrives, generally with a reckonizable sex. We are recording (not assigning) what is observed (IMO).
IMO, in recent times any number of perverse initiatives are being foist on (parents and) babies and children. Many, particularly these chemical and surgical interventions, are particularly damaging and irreversable.
In my time, on the advice of an expert physician, I was fed every 3 hrs, despite being screaming hungry at 2 hrs. My father left the house until the 3rd hr arrived. Have problems with unwanted hunger pangs when anxious. We need understandings (likely relevant education) to reach our own beneficial decisions on behalf of our children! Clearly, some in the Medical Community are tendering recommendations that lead to harms.

I took my chances on the lottery drafting system.

I never got razzed by them for "Not" serving active duty on ships.
My youngest son John did a 4 year hitch on CVN75 HS Truman a few yrs ago

The Texas Minute is a 5 issue/ wk product of The Texas Scorecard. There is rarely a day that they do not have a story about a school employee (usually a teacher/instructor) molesting students. The offenses range from diddling with 17 yr olds to doing the devil knows what with a 4 yr old girl. This simply is more proof that the sexual revolution has been a cultural disaster. There are inherent cultural parameters that dictate acceptable behavior and these ought not be left to the dictates of the judicial bench, many of whose occupants skate on very thin ice re moral terpitude. This so called revolution has brought our culture to the brink of accepting child molestation as....normal! Since they have been given pretty much everything else they have harangued, howled and rioted for, perhaps this will be the pervs last frontier.

Thank you for this timely review and analyses! It's sad this issue hangs on. One is inclined to think its the result of perverse intentions and monetary incentives.
One oddity. "Sex assigned at birth" An infant arrives, generally with a reckonizable sex. We are recording (not assigning) what is observed (IMO).
IMO, in recent times any number of perverse initiatives are being foist on (parents and) babies and children. Many, particularly these chemical and surgical interventions, are particularly damaging and irreversable.
In my time, on the advice of an expert physician, I was fed every 3 hrs, despite being screaming hungry at 2 hrs. My father left the house until the 3rd hr arrived. Have problems with unwanted hunger pangs when anxious. We need understandings (likely relevant education) to reach our own beneficial decisions on behalf of our children! Clearly, some in the Medical Community are tendering recommendations that lead to harms.
One surely hopes the efforts under way and more will continue and intensify for the sake of all the children at risk (and for the Medical Community credibility as a whole for that matter).
The Democrats are spinning the transgender story any way they can. Why would they transition male mice to female to determine how hormones affect asthma? I’m sure there are plenty of female mice on which to experiment!

That said I think the research being done is possibly useful or even important. If we're going to keep allowing people to "transition" (hopefully not children!) them understanding the effects seems important. Actually, doing these experiments in the lab before allowing these treatments on people would seem to be the proper way to do medical research.
To Andrea Love, PhD - I can't believe this needs to be said: This kind of federal grant information is obviously not that difficult to find. Perhaps you should conduct a little research before you issue such a condescending comment. Surely you needed to do some research in your pursuit of a PhD.
