Normally, my eyes glaze over at stock market analyses, but you actually made it interesting :-) I would love for this trend to continue to the point that the public can no longer ignore the plummeting stock values. I’m ready to celebrate watching BigPharma crash and burn 🍿
You and me both, MAA. My husband the analytical chemist numbers cruncher believes I'm smart enough to understand data graphs. I on the other hand am too lazy to apply myself after my eyes glaze over.😸
First it was pills. Now it’s vaccines. Take a handful of pills everyday and vaccines during the year and you will be healthy! Said no one who has a functioning brain. I remember in the 70’s it was all about “preventive medicine” which was a great concept until it started including pills and vaccines for everything.
The first week of the "fourteen days to slow the spread" was kind of glorious. I had a kid on a swimming team, was very involved with the inner workings of the team, and woke up NOT at 4:15 am, and NOT having to drive 40 minutes to the pool, and - for the first week - I was good with that. A plea went out in my community for masks for the elderly, so I made about 350 of them, all the while thinking, "These are worthless against viruses, because viruses are not TB." And yet fauci maintained the fear porn, month after month, after month... None of what he was spewing lined up with what I learned in Biology, Zoology, A&P, Microbiology, Nursing... None of it. And yet, to get people to listen to reasonable, rational thought became... impossible. For every one that did, at least 10 would not.
I have found great joy in correcting misinformation at work... such as the "full authorization..." hogwash. Logic has taken a backseat to hysteria: Were any fully approved, the others would be yanked from the market, and yet that simple logic is beyond the mental capacity of the populace at large. In a great feat of irony, a family member was reduced to rage when I suggested there was merit to HCQ being efficacious against c-19, due to its anti-inflammatory properties... yet she was the first to acknowledge her case of covid wasn't bad compared to my brother's, because she was taking prednisone... an anti-inflammatory... and he was not, and has HBP.
In East Berlin when the border between East and West was officially opened, I saw West Germans leaping for joy, even jumping into fountains. East Germans were... catatonic. They could not believe their government had lied to them for 50 years. There are going to be many here in the US who feel the same in the near future, I'm afraid...
Baby steps. Lights are coming on... we must all hang together against these mandates, lest we all hang separately.
"Delivery — actually getting RNA into cells — has long bedeviled the whole field. On their own, RNA molecules have a hard time reaching their targets. They work better if they’re wrapped up in a delivery mechanism, such as nanoparticles made of lipids. But those nanoparticles can lead to dangerous side effects, especially if a patient has to take repeated doses over months or years.
Novartis abandoned the related realm of RNA interference over concerns about toxicity, as did Merck and Roche.
Moderna’s most advanced competitors, CureVac and BioNTech, have acknowledged the same challenge with mRNA."
You are way to kind describing American Association for the Advancement of Science who have been a leading PR operation & fierce advocates for Monsanto and other toxic profiteers for two decades.
I have completely lost faith in these companies. I don’t even want to take Emergen-C anymore. (Owned by Pfizer.) I might actually be an anti-vaxxer now, never was before. Time will tell.
I appreciated the sarcasm about Moderna not having enough money to hire decent biostatisticians. Here's a little more from The Steve Deace Show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k6hclDcZcg
In addition to the psuedouridine and lipid carrier particles, I have wondered how much of the side effect profile is due to the fact that the LNPs transfect cells indiscriminately regardless of type. Whereas typical attenuated virus strategies would be selective by binding to receptors in a similar way to the real virus. It seems like this could result in a more confused immune response, auto-immunity, inflammation in random places, etc. It seems crazy to assume that which cells are "infected" would not influence the immune training, and would not have unanticipated consequences. It flies in the face of the idea of an attenuated attack that is as close as possible to the real thing, just less serious - given that we don't really understand much about how the system works!
Absolutely! This is something my wife and I have been discussing a lot lately. The other issue is that a bolus of protein is being made and flooding the naive body with spike into areas that normally it probably wouldn't go (muscle, vascular, ovaries, etc). With a normal viral response, mucosa are infected and the spike protein builds gradually - as the immune system response also builds in response. This is literally a shock to the system.
This gets at another big unknown (IFAICT) - to what extent is there free-floating spike in both the natural infection case and the vaccine case. It appears there is pretty clear evidence that the vaccine does produce free floating spikes (of the pseudouridine type and "locked" open) and S1 subunits (the theory being that S1 gets cleaved off while the rest of the spike is still displayed). I'm not aware of the hypothetical reason for the observation of full spike in the plasma in the vaccine case. This opens up a lot more questions about the differences - are free floating spikes or S1 subunits also observed in COVID patients? Are some vaccinated hosts producing tons more free floating spikes than others (the observations of free floating spike were based on i think 13 patients)? Is free floating spike bound to ACE2 causing different / worse problems than when it has the virus attached?
There seem to be hundreds of questions here and they are virtually impossible to answer comprehensively because we also don't know to what extent different hosts or the "luck of the draw" in where the LNPs end up, will cause varying results.
While I don't give anyone a pass on this vaccination program, I have to admit that properly testing it is practically impossible to achieve.
I don't know where Omicron has been hiding since April 2020 (am I correct in finding that a bit odd?), but I have to say that I think something along those lines - a virus very similar to SARS2 but milder, and entering the body in the normal way - makes a much safer approach to immunizaation!

Per my research, Bill HR 550 passed the house, but failed in senate, and was removed from legislation when 117th congress adjourned in Jan 2023. Never enacted, thankfully. But is certain to come back in a “companion” bill, and may already have.

If you are set up to do so shorting these unethical giants is the perfect way to make bank while enjoying the 'crash and burn'!
I wouldn’t have a clue, but that sounds like a brilliant seed to plant at reddit!

Yeah, sure mRNA shots at least annually; that's a great idea! Not.
Does anyone else remember the 2016 Stat News article about Moderna?
